Having just seen something that may become official, which indicates combined worship - and also having been reminded of previous official examples, such as Maculus - I would postulate that such mixed worship is possible for special cases with strong traditions that lead towards a crossover.

EG Irripi Ontor and L Mhy who deal in all kinds of knowledge having special ways for some of their odder followers to specialise in sorcery. As to the references which say that some other cults allow sorcerers as worshippers, perhaps these rules harken back to the Empire days when things were more cosmopolitan. Even then the Theist side would likely have had to be very limited since the person would likely concentrate on sorcerous studies. Perhaps what it means for these non-Knowledge Cults is that sorcerers were permitted as lay members/cultural worshippers only, and rarely even became Initiates?
