Elamle

Hi

My computer temporarily died. Here's some more stuff on Maslo.

Several distinct groups exist among the Elamle culture, speaking different dialects that are collectively called Elamlanni. I think 9 is a good number, and tried to rough out the subject.

The groups were formed during the first migration. The early clans use the Miirdek rites of initiation. Later migrations brought more people, who were absorbed in one of the existing groups, thus generating wide variations in customs among a same group. Due to their lack of interactions ("friendly neighboring clan visiting" is still an Unusual Event), the groups developed their own subcultures and dialects, influenced by the clans who later joined them. The Second Century migration brought the second commonest type of clans, who use different rites from Miirdek's and are called the Second-Comers.

The Elamle Aroin live near Neimengu, all over the small peninsula to the east and north of the city. They number some 200,000 people. Most notable was the adoption of Malkioni migrants from Teleos in the tenth century, brought by Pereko the Prophet. Masdoumari is not sleeping, he's become invisible. Also he created the first man and woman so that they belonged to the first caste, and their children to the second, etc. The Pereki clans bury their dead in earth (but inside a boat) and don't practice group marriages.

The Elmbayah live near Bayahote and north. They number some 150,000 people. They're famous for their initiatory pilgrimages to Bayahote, where they meet the Limmer.

Three groups live along the north-eastern coast of the peninsula. All three number some of the weird Turtle Clans, who came with the second century migrants. Their initiatory rites involve doing things with turtles. In the Teroro group there exist the Flower Clans with their strange marriage customs: men and women who married during the same ceremony live in the same large hearth and share everything. They grow plenty of flowers, some with strange powers, and practice animistic idolatry. (yup i've caught up with the earlier digests) The Dali group give their firstborns to the elves. About 70,000 people each.

The Instiggi Group lives near Olyn at the northern tip of Elamle. They're considered uptight by visitors, but only the core Olyn Clan who lives in Olyn really is. They're 150,000.

Two groups live between Olyn and Wendo. The last group are the Wendo, south of the Wendo marsh. About 70,000 people each.

On the "Sharp" Abiding Book:

Isn't there an American publisher called "Sharp Books" or something like that? (oh, maybe i'm raving)

Cheers,
Jerome
