These are all, in fact, anthropomorphisations (Person-Rune-i- Morphisations ?) : from a strict GL POV, the Ancient Elements all preceded the appearance of male, female, or any other gender.
It's true that some Gloranthan cultures would make the classical Gender / Element relation you suggest, but from a strict epistemological POV (not to mention Gloranthan mystical, non-human, or other fairly undescribed POVs) such parallels are false ones.
The Darkness, Sea, Earth, Fire, Storm and Moon are sexless things.

This is more an effect of elemental devolution, from the GL POV, than anything else : the gender equivalents are IMO more consequences of the inventions of Sex and Death than anything else.
