From Classic Glorantha Prosopaedia:

<<The Elemental Rulers of the Court were: Dame Darkness, order and pattern within shadow; Sir Sea, source of the waters; Empress Earth, broad and bountiful; Lord Light, the bright and fiery aether; and King Storm (Umath), an Elemental Ruler often not considered to be part of the court.>>

Some says these Godlearner Concepts can be identified with Nakala (often depicted as female), Zaramaka (though it often depicted as hermaphroditic), Ga (Goddess, usually), Aether (Patriarchal both for Malkioni and dara happan) and Umath (who say Umath is female?)

So Uzuz was called Mistresses, most of Earth Gods and nymphs are female, and most of Sun and Storm deities got wives from Earth Pantheon in classic setting. (For example, once Dendara was an earth goddess similar to Ernalda in RQ #3....)

I know western language occasionally needs gender for their language system from the POV of Japanese....a vestige from Greek Mythology, maybe.
