Hi,

Arlaten is a Rokari through and through.

The Rokari were an incidental invader in Heortland. As far as I can ascertain, Richard du Liombard was a mercenary in the service of King Uther of Heortland. When Uther died heirless Heortland was thrown into civil war, Richard and his well equipped knights soon made their position clear and dominated the battlefield. The royal throne at Durengard was seized by the usurper. Du Liombard was probably aided and financed by the Rokari enclaves in Nochet and the Trader Princes. He tried to establish a crusade in Heortland, declaring it to be the lost malkioni colony of Malkonwal. However as a mercenary Du Liombard excelled, but as a king he sucked. Rebellion and resistance ensued. In many ways Richard Du Liombard is more like the earthly King John of Norman England (the Robin Hood version at least). When the Empire invaded few lords rallied to Richard's side and he was easily ousted. In my Glorantha the Rokari still linger in the cities of Heortland, Knight Fort is still under their control and they serve as mercenaries to several lords. Some Esvulari were converted to Rokarism and secretly follow this worship. The Capratis and Du Tumerine Enclaves in Nochet still make good money from trade. Where Richard is remains a mystery, he may have fled home to Seshnela with his tale between his legs, or he remains underground fermenting rebellion. The later is more fun IMHO.

Cheers Simon Bray
