Now there's a tough question. Your best bet unfortunately would be to find an existing campaign and sit in. I've been running for almost a year now (but not even once a month) and I still don't feel that comfortable with the "rules". You're right they are very vague in spots and really could have used more concrete examples.

Have been a long time fan of Glorantha, but rarely played there. Have the Hero Wars rules and waffle between moments of clarity and complete confusion (often in the same paragraph) as I read the rules. Is there a place I can go to get a better grasp of the rules and how they work? I understand for flexibilty the rules can be necesarily vauge but I still feel I'm missing something- I really want to use these rules and feel my group would love them if only I were confident in there use.
