Well, you can bid very low for pretty secure augments. We've also
been playing with a house rule that allows you instead to autoaugment
by +1 ability/+2 edge for every 8 full points in the
augmenting ability. You are more likely to get more if you roll the
dice, but this is safer and, above all, quicker.
