How to deal with an Uz mob

hey folks, looking for advice on this one. apologies if it's come up before.

my Uzko devotee of the Black Marshall wants to raise a huge mob of insect cavalry to conquer the world with. ok, so he's a starting character and therefore not exactly going to have a regiment, but he might have a few riders that go along with him.

i don't like having more than 4 followers - it just gets too messy, and anyway, how can a general claim everyone of his warriors as a personal relationship? so i've taken just two of these mahouts as personal followers, the rest are aggregated as my Mahout Mob ability, 2W. The idea is that the named followers are my officers, and the Mahout Mob ability represents the size of the uzgang and its willingness to do stuff for me. Initially I listed it as a relationship skill, but then i stuck it as a seperate ability under Combat and used it a fight we had last night against a Walktapus...

but this doesn't seem to be an ideal situation either.

1, i already have Mass Combat (Uz Gang, Insect Cavalry) 17. Ok, so this refers to generalship, whereas Mahout Mob refers to the uzgang itself and one can augment the other... but i'm still not sure about this. It's not as though i have a mace and a Mace Fighting ability i use to augment it. Should the MAhout Mob instead be reflected as a massive edge on my Mass Combat ability?

2, my Mahout Mob - which for all I know could be 4 or 5 guys - or just one really tough one - only grant me 22 AP. that doesn't strike me as being an exactly devasting squad of elite cavalry. more like a half hearted inept bunch of .... trolls. hmmm.

I could just put five names down as mahout followers, and start off with a whopping 85 additional AP, which is certainly better from a gamers POV, but where does it stop?

does anyone have any prototype mass combat rules? suggestions for this? or do you think the situation is roughly in-line with the spirit of the rules?

cheers

guy
