I don't see Heortling culture as having such a hand-to-mouth philosophy, but perhaps I'm wrong. Surely the point of Trickster Illusions are that appearance are deceptive, nothing is truly permanent and in trying to pretend that they are you are decieving yourself just as the Trickster does.

A pie in the face - Substance is more important than appearance. Buying a cow that turns to manure - Wealth is temporary and you can't take it with you when you die.
Decieved into believing a lie - Even if you are sure you are right, always respect other's points of view.

Every trick has a lesson, and a truth behind it. If Trickster's ilusory cows were just holograms, that deeper meaning would be weakend. The fact that they realy are cows shows that Trickster's lesson is real too.

Illusion is the other side of Truth, not the opposite of it.
