One other thing I forgot to mention -
The more augments you try the more chance that you will end up getting a failure of some sort (although admittedly 6 +1 augments vs a resistance of 5 is less risky than one +6 augment vs 10W, especially if your affinity is only 20). This could be interpretted as a temporary loss of use of the affinity rather than just applying a negative augmentation -
