Actually, IMHO, the Wizard is much closer to a monk than the Orderly. They live secluded and mostly follow their own rites and practices. The orders are closer to the Templars or other militant orders, the militaristic Orders at least (Saint Ehilm, Saint Gerlant, etc.). They are much closer to the main Church than the Wizardry Schools and have a more day-to-day importance than wizards (the Orders do have a few important blessings for lay Worshippers, like bless market or bless horses).

But I will say that the line is blury when it comes to Adepts and Orderlies (except that one's magic is much weaker than the others). It all simply comes down to the fact that a lay Worshipper will probably meet more Orderlies than Adepts, since the first has a day- -day role.
