Yeah, I was wondering about the exact same thing. How come powers gained from a theistic god end up being animist powers?
Now presumably the identification of Yelmalio with the light being ZZ beat up is speculative, as is the identification of ZZ as the darkness creature that beat up Yelmalio. Perhaps there's a resolution to this somewhere in the interface between the two myths. Still, it seems a bit odd.
