Or perhaps it's a punishment? You are doomed to fulfill a destiny *until* you get given the no magical healing. You can be the utterly merciless thug forever, but you'll never be allowed to join the final battle. Every divination coming back with "You've been a very naughty boy" or similar...
It would be hard to get an RQ player to go with that, but one or two new personality traits could make it interesting in HQ. A Humakti as the doom laden immortal for whom true death is a release to what they strive for (a place in the einharjar).
Oh wait, there are enough people making Humaktis' lives hell already, without me adding another way to screw them...
