I'm sure the term is older than this, but I first saw it in the Feng   Shui RPG, referring to a nameless, faceless member of an enemy horde --   e.g., all the ninjas who attack Our Hero, and get dispatched in a   variety of spectacular manners, are mooks. Trollkin would probably be   mooks in most Gloranthan circumstances.
