Of course, I imagine that jumping straight to devotee of Humakt from a standing start is actually a highly plausible reaction for survivors of the Batblat. A generous GM might even give them the 'story relevance' break on the cost - coming within spitting distance of the Bat has to qualify as a near death experience in anyone's book...
