And each clan wyter is effectively a hero-band of sorts, yet clan members will also be members of smaller, more specialised hero-bands. "The Warband" is the most cliched example, followed closely by "the fyrd": I'd expect "the Loomhouse" to be another. "The tribe" will be in there, too, a level up, as a result of the clan joining it.

I'd suggest that it's normal for most Heortlings at least to be members of several interlinked herobands. I'd be quite surprised if they had to spend a HP to join each and every one. But, none of these are temporary memberships (at least, that isn't the plan!)

Probably depends on the requirements, and they vary.
