Other than a difficuty in translating the staring and minute moves in terms of AP bids, I guess this would work quite well. The duel is really a contest of wills, in which each contestant is trying to drive the other below 0 AP. When they do that, they get to take a parting shot (using Close Combat - Katana) to strike the killing blow. As always, a parting shot may go wrong if you end up losing the contest - If this also drives you below 0 AP then both contestants are wounded
