What they heal, really - Minor can take care of Hurts, while Major takes care of Wounds and Dying (HW page 155). Chalana Arroy's Cure Disease and Cure Wounds affinites are all major magic (except Stop Bleeding, that's probably a Minor). Bevara's Remove Hurt is definitely Minor.
