Re: Community Support funkiness

Reading through all of this, I had another idea, in case even more tension is needed on heroquests.....the level of support may not be fixed until the ceremony itself gets going. Some people who thought they were going to just help chant some lines and include the questers in their daily prayers (ordinary support) could find that they get caught up in the moment and become more fully involved. On the flip side, as the magic begins to rise and the full meaning of the quest becomes clear perhaps a few people get turned against the questers, as they find they can't overcome their misgivings after all.

The game reason for doing this is to prevent players from just mechanically preparing for a quest "OK, we know we'll get ordinary support from the clan, and we can rely on these 12 people to give extraordinary support, OK let's go to the heroplane now." Taking action ahead of time to permanently or temporarily boost relationships, plus using things like leadership or orate to full effect could gain the heroes a slightly larger bonus, while neglecting this sort of thing and just taking it all for granted could easily result in a less than expected bonus.

Just another idea that might be worth incorporating into any revised community support scheme.
