Five Worlds cosmology gone berserk, would be my guess. Foolishly I was hoping they meant they were going to _tone down_ the "misapplied worship" rules, easily my least favourite (to put it mildly) part of HW, from the very muted noises I'd heard that these rules would be "simplfied" in HW2. The examples we have for "defiant" cults seem if anything to compound the situation by exaggerating, for me, the "anomalous" nature of these cults. Seemingly, it's not possible to have an entity that can merely be "equally correctly" approached _either_ theisticly or animisticly (at least give or take). Rather, we get the spectacles of Storm Bull and Gagarth, which decide to almost entirely ignore _all_ the catgories, and declare that these guys are _so_ weird that, what the heck!, you can approach them theisticly _and_ animisticly. How entertainingly kooky these defiant gods are! Bah.
