Perhaps not... But do you want to bet that that has stopped people
trying? Including reckless RQ2/3 contributors, as noted. ;-)
I think it's reasonable to quell Mikko's expections of a "Inner
World" level of detail map for "HeroPlane" type locations
- indeed maps of that quality even for the Inner World are
rather "anachronistic", in the sense of the usual analogues.
(That's an entirely different discussion, though.) But one thing
that HQ absolutely needs are "Hero Quest maps" in the other sense.
What do the Hero Planes appear to be like, in as much detail as
the pertinent myths allow? (If there are multiple condradictory
stories, then there will just bally well have to be multiple
condradictory maps...) This is after all what you need for
running HQs: I realize that in an ideallised sense, what happens
is that an HQ is simply a stipulated linear narrative, and you
have a set thing that happens at each stage, and then you progress
directly to the next... But how often does _that_ happen? More
often the beleagered GM won't have all or even more of the
"definitive" HQ for that myth, the bloody-minded PCs don't stick
to it anyway, and/or "events" deflect them off it, so I reckon
the majority case will involve a large "just busk it" or "which
story are we in now?" element, for which you need some data on
"mythic geography". (OK, gloragraphy.)
Cheers,
Alex.
