For Humakti at least I don't like the idea that they all start out that way, most might have tendencies that way but events (i.e. the game) will decide how psychotic[1] they end up being. Of course even a Humakti who seems sociable and a bit of a fluffy bunny (by Humakti standards) is still a fanatic and anyone forgetting it may be making a fatal mistake. To give up family and clan ties in Heortling society is such an extreme thing that only an extremist of some form would do it IMO.

[1] Sociopathic might be a more appropriate term, they are perfectly rational and consistent just utterly at odds with the society around them.
