Uz females are under social pressure to get pregnant a lot, since only a small proportion of births bring forth Uzko; most bringing forth Enlo.
The more Uzko litters a mother bears, the higher social status she has, and the higher pressure she is under to get pregnant.
The pain of childbirth is generally borne by male Uzko, through use of Travail magic.
The same goes for injury.
The male in question is generally the father.
