Getting into Glorantha Digest territory here ...

Moons are occasionally considered (mythically and/or magically) to be dim suns, not large planets. There are IIRC some obscure hints in GRoY and other places to support the idea ... didn't one of the Moons become the Sun or a second Sun at one point ? ... AFAIK, the Red Moon actually radiates some small amount of heat (helping explain the relatively warm climate of modern Peloria).

There are mythic parallels between the Red Emperor and the Emperors of Dara Happa with real magical effects, too. Several ancient Sun Emperors had big bright mini-suns glowing in the Sky above them, AFAIK. Sound familiar ?
