Just an advice:
Straight swords are typical infantry weapons.
Curved swords are typical cavalry weapons.
YT may be a Lunar and not a traditionalist but he is a
Soldier and a Tactician.
The passage from straight to curved blade can't be
reduced to a mere change of religious symbolism!
