AFAIK they are meant to be evil body parts such as the Devil's Eye that lies beneath the Rubble, the Clawed Hands of Snake Pipe Hollow or the Head of Atyar within the Tunnelled Hills. The places that Arkat made for them are _prisons_ to wall them up for all perpetuity.

Why would an Uz want to eat them? They are far more dangerous than consuming an uncooked walktapus.
