It's what you would expect from the mighty death drakes. To grip DEATH in there teeth and smile :-)

The [apparently to some ] foul smell masks the fearsome stench of the Undead they battle.
And it helps keep the bugs away .
Some especially strong brands are even rumoured to repel evil sprits. The cigar fumes also help lift a ducks sprits as they venture where the featherless fear to tread.

The reports of the weeds addictiveness is just another lunar slander on duckdom.
Chain smoking is just another sign of dedication to the cause amongst the mallards.
