Ingo sells stuff to distributors for
less than cover price. Usually the
distributor is someone like Esdevium,
who distributes the Classics for me in
the UK. As an example, distributors
get at least a 40-50% discount off the cover prices and mark stuff up about 10% when
they sell it to game stores. Thus, Esdevium might buy a $10 book for $5, and sell it to a game shop for $5-$6 or so.

Unless the game shop is just buying stuff for cover price and marking it up from there, then they are definitely scalping people.
