But, if the character wants to be a mother, it's the one sub-cult of Vinga that she can't have. Red Women quite specifically give up their fertility. This is never stated for any other Vingan AFAIK (though may be implicit).

The shared sub-cult isn't going to help. What you need is to be an initiate of both an Orlanthi sub-cult (Vinga) and an Ernaldan one (Orane), while retaining female fertility. Which sounds difficult and unusual, to me. Not impossible (this is a PC!) but weird.

But it sounds to me as if the problem to be solved is

And the joint initiation is merely being proposed as a solution. Are there other solutions?

How about producing a child, handing it to her six sisters to rear, and then joining Vinga?

How about choosing another cult/subcult capable of "defending"? No, I can't think of one offhand...

How about simply learning to fight?
