Two notes:

1. I mispelled the authors name, it is Rosemary Kirstein, not Kirsten.
2. Language of Power is actually the fourth book in the steerswoman series. The first two were originally published ages ago, and have recently been re-issued in one volume as The Steerswoman's Road. The third book is The Lost Steersman.

To bring in some Gloranthan relevance, the Steerswomen (and men) actually make an interesting take on a knowledge cult. They have to answer any question that anybody asks of them.....but everyone else has to answer their questions too. Anybody who refuses to answer a steerswoman's question is put under a ban, where no steerswoman will answer their questions.....and since the steerswoman are the main knowledge keepers, this is a big deal.

Not quite sure where you could drop that into Glorantha, but it makes for some really cool interaction, and would make for fantastic in game choices.
