He's not Daak-renamed, but an assassin-hero who underwent apotheosis thanks to the Goddess. One reason for a proliferation of new names is precisely because of the way deities were changed by the Goddess and people became gods. Thus, Selven Hara has a cult of her own, but is recognisably based on/linked with Etyries. It should all be clearer with ILH-2.
