Agreed. However, I can still see Rob wanting to weight the odds heavily in Josh's favour. We've certainly had characters retire from the game when they married, and that was a fine conclusion to their more active, bachelor days. I don't think that putting Josh's PC on the spot in making him choose between his friends and his love (as I read what you've written) is the best solution for Rob for this situation.
I do, however, like the idea that successive similar feats resisting temptation could build up into the final successful roll. That way Josh can have positive mods to what might otherwise be an extremely difficult task.
