I should have used a better example. I was imagining that, in fact, the character did lead the broo in question away from a village which managed to survive. He wasn't lying about having run away - it's right there in the story. He's merely emphasizing the benefits of his action, and de-emphasizing what some might see as the negative.

As I said, not lying.

Now, will some people perhaps see this as dishonest in some way? Sure, perhaps. Depends on the character, the precise circumstances (did he run screaming, or taunt the broo away)? Etc, etc. But I think that it's neither problematic to claim that spin is what we're talking about, nor that occasionally it'll get you into trouble. I sure hope my character who ran from the broo gets called on it so that he has to decide whether or not to back it up.

So I think precise definitions here are not really important. Play it by situation, and I'm sure it's an intereresting ability that lives up to both the term selected, and Greg's description of it. Would in my game.

Mike
