Ernalda. You know, the Earth Queen. One of three sisters in the Earth Tribe, specialising in things "spiritual" rather than animal or plant. The one who was rescued/kidnapped from the Sky Palace, had several children by Orlanth, carried on happily when he was outlawed (possibly had children by other gods in this period, but male Orlanthi don't talk about that), but "went to sleep" when the place got messed up by enemy action. A while later, Orlanth noticed that she wasn't around (no, he didn't drop dead on the spot), and decided to do something about it. That something involved him visiting the land of the dead: whether he was technically "dead" is a matter of semantics, but it's about as close as he ever got to it. Equally whether she was "dead" is a matter of semantics, but again it's as close as she ever got to it.

I know what's in the published works - Glorantha boxed set, KoS, and TR/ST. TR/ST expand considerably on the earlier work, but manage to do so without contradicting it. (TR p177 explains that "Ernalda ...has manifested herself and
her powers as goddesses ... These include her sister goddesses as well as her aspects." and that covers most of the apparent contradictions.)

Except in places and times where he's just one of her many husband protectors, yes, or where she's married exclusively to someone else (like Yelmalio, for instance). (Interesting thought: what happened in either of the two Sun Counties during Fimbulwinter? Do we know?)

They're married. Yes. This does not imply that if one "dies", so does the other. And the known stories about them make it quite clear that this is not the case.

You've already said you're not interested in making that consistent with existing Glorantha, so I can't say this comes as any great surprise. It'll be a detailed description of how your Glorantha varies, as far as I can tell from descriptions given.

Original Poster. You know, person who asked the question I thought we were trying to answer. Standard usenet/forum/discussion list abbreviation.

No. I'm not analogising it to anything, I'm just looking at what we've got.
