Pavis is the right place to bring new players in, and to bring back old ones!
"Blood over Gold" is also a very good choice (and you can get Tradetalk # 10, 11, and 15 as supportive material for it!)!
AND: "Barbarian Adventures" needs a reprint! Maybe updated to HQ 2.0, and in one volume with "Orlanth is Dead" and "Gathering Thunder"?
Glorantha is a setting rich on different cultures, rich on mythology, and with a rich history. With a lot of different interest groups, and personalities. But formost Glorantha is a world of adventure, of conflicts, and of ongoing plots.
We need cultural/regional books ("Thunder Rebels", "Imperial Lunar
Handbook", "Heroes of Malkion" etc.)!
We need religious/mythology books ("Storm Tribe", "Under the Red Moon"
etc.)!
We need history books ("King of Sartar", "History of the Heortling People"
etc.)!
We need heroband/interest group books ("Masters of Luck and Death",
"Champions of the Reaching Moon")!
We need MOST adventures/campaigns ("Blood over Gold", "Pavis: Gateway to
Glorantha",
"Grand Argrath Campaign")!
To publish more books like "Blood over Gold" (or for the oldsters of us: "Sun County") seems to be a good start. Part cultural background, part mythology, part history, with herobands/NPCs, and scenarios that put all of it into action!
BUT even if adventures are needed, REALLY needed, we have to keep in mind that gloranthan adventures that are not rooted in a culture or region, have no connection to a religion or mythology, have nothing where they come from (history), and cant base their NPCs on an interesting group are not better than any generic fantasy scenario!
