This "problem" seems to boil down to niche protection in my eyes, and I
would refer you to the rules on "Specific Ability Bonuses" on page 51. To
quote the key passage "Broader abilities are penalized not to maintain a
balance against the Narrator's world, but within the group, so that colorful
choices are rewarded."
In other words, you would protect the specialness of PCs stand out powers by
ensuring that any PCs efforts in that arena are ranked accordingly by use of
appropriate bonuses.
