We have had 3 major games with HeroQuest 2.

New Moon. Benedict Adamson ran a game set in Pelanda during the rise of the Red Goddess

Screaming Steeds: James Hawkins ran a game set amongst members of the Black Horse Troop

The Coming Storm: My "20 years after" Red Cow game, a lot of the material for which is heading to Moon Designs for a future supplement. We tend to play a season of this at a time. It is intended be chronicle play and have something of the feel of the Icelandic sagas (with a little riffing off of Conan, mainly from Beyond the Black River).

We were among the playtesters so its inevitable that we like it because we fed back what we didn't like. Much of the points that some folks are cautious on I really like. I use pass/fail as a tool all the time. Not a slave to it, but its a kind of What do I think the story needs/What does pass-fail think the story needs kind of check at any contest. to be fair though I have not pre-scripted resistances since HW, and moved away from it rapidly even then (after a steer from Bruce Ferrie that he used to set resistances as Player -5, Player +10 etc).

We play a number of indie/small press games, but HQ is the one that remains the best all-rounder for me.
