scale

Am I not getting something here.

It seems that the whole of Kethaela is about 500 km square. Even fairly late in history, there was something like 100 000 - 200 000 people living in southern Finland, in about that area of land. (and a big part of Kethaela is water). And yet there's supposed to be almost three million people in Kethaela.

Am I getting the scale wrong, or is the population density of Glorantha really huge?

Surprisingly enough I've never really payed that much attention to the scale of the maps before.
