Er, no that's complete nonsense, and I think Phil has a very good point.

The War in Iraq, for instance, is religiously or should I say "religiously" justified, not to mention the fact that the creation and support of the State of Israel **by** the West has involved multiple mass killings grounded in just the sort of Old Testament thinking that Phil has quoted.

Sadly, the many unimaginatively literalist interpreters of religious and mythic texts will continue to interpret the histories of various killings and the opinions of various mass murderers that may be recordeed therein as the Word of God.
