If you read the text carefully, you'll notice that those 'Biting Things' nodes aren't all alike, and you visit different ones on different tries at the quest. So finding your way through isn't as simple as I suggested under spoilers.
Someone with more patience than me could probably map the proper choices on each variant.
I like this game, you never seem to run out of new wrinkles to find.
