Joerg and I came up with a big backstory of Broyan. Basically he was a very promising chieftain who served the previous High King of Heortland. When he died, Broyan asserted primacy over the Heortland Orlanthi - although Rikard (whom Broyan knew) crowned himself King of Malkonwal.

Much of the specific details are now wrong, but maybe this is a start. The alternative is the Broyan was not directly involved in Heortlending politics until Rikard made himself king. Broyan - with the aid of Kallyr and others (the Larnsti) - established himself as High King, without any Andrini taint.

Whch is pretty unusual, and how he ended up doing that might be worth exploring?

Just checked Kallyr's timeline in OiD: the gregged version has made her quite a bit younger. She's 33 in 1619. Another reason why Broyan is the leader in that partnership, perhaps?

I think Joerg at least had more details of how and wheh he became king, and it was later than that? Are they still valid?
