Shouldn't one entire set of story hooks be "you are sent to gain the support of" whoever along with your supporting cast? All of the weirdos of the Dragon Pass game can be possibilities -- Androgeus, Delecti, Cragspider, Black Horse Troop, etc. Imagine the hope as the party sets off -- bringing the Black Horse Troop to attack the Lunar rear would end the seige. Imagine the disappointment when they fail (except to bring back Ducks).
