I'm certain that some are convinced this is exactly what the Seven Mothers did. Just as I'm sure that somewhere there are people with a myth of how Orlanth (or Rebellus Terminus, whatever) not only slew but dismembered Yelm and hid his parts, and how those nice Lightbringers went and found all the parts and put Yelm back together again.
