Why wizards don't rule, they ask.
They might as well ask why dronari don't study the Book, or why horali don't
till the soil. It shows how little they understand the Malkioni True Way. So as
not to disturb again our Holy Ecclesiarch, whose temper might become frayed at
such gibberish, let me tell you all again why wizards don't rule in Seshnela.
- Malkion told the Zzaburi where their place in society was. Any deviation from
this place is blasphemy and caste-breaking, with complete loss of caste and
knowledge, as Holy Theoblanc aptly pointed out.
- Zzaburi want to reach Solace as much as the first shepherd you will meet. To
do this, they must strictly adhere to the role Malkion's Laws gave them. If they
don't their essence will get lost upon their physical death, to be devoured by
krjalki demons.
- Understanding the Law takes much time, the work of a lifetime in fact, and
recquires extreme self-discipline : to meditate, to concentrate, to fast, to
seek the way towards Truth alone. It leaves no time for other venues.
- Offering councel and advice to the talari to ensure the energetic well-being
of the community, as Malkion dictated, is a task that diverts wizards from their
study of the Word of God. It shows them the follies of profane rule and thus is
a powerful deterrent against wordly ambition. The mortal realms pale before the
splendors of the Word of God.
- A godlearner demonist magus called pilif, Makan curse his essence to oblivion,
did try to wrest the Throne of Seshnela from its Rightful holders. The very
elements revolted against such heresy ; society was cast upside down with
dronari fighting for their Lords. It was a disaster, and should never happen
again.
As Makan created it, as Malkion ordered it, so is our society : the perfect
city, where every man has his place and role, where all strive together towards
Solace for all. Where wizards study, advise and protect ; never rule.
Amen.
