The societies and religions of the Malkioni and the Mostali share several
similarities. (The following is oversimplified.) Both worship a divine
entity that cannot be communicated with directly by their worshippers. They
are both caste-based societies, based on a hereditary grouping of
occupations (though the occupation groupings are different). Following the
rules of the caste without deviation confers immortality on the caste
members. Each of them practices a type of magic described as "sorcery". Are
these similarities spurious, or is there any connection between Mostal the
World Machine and the Invisible God?
