> I like the idea for the setting, which seems to be the plunder of the wrecked cities of the Middle Sea Empire. I'm not sure of the exact time period though. Is this after the Closing ?
This is supposed to be in the beginning of the 10th century.
> I'm not so sure about the use of Anglish, which I think is a good idea to emphasize the conservative nature of these people, but may be difficult to pull off. I think it needs to be in comparison with other people who speak normal English, for example. I am presuming that you are going to game in English?
No, in French. The introduction was supposed to be a post on my blog devoted to the campaign game (when/if it starts).
> I am also not sure I know what an "eerie checkout" might be
"checkout" is supposed to be the Anglish word for "experiment", see http://anglish.wikia.com/wiki/English_Wordbook/E
> "newfound asideness" is a peculiar phrase
"asideness" is supposed to be the Anglish word for "isolation", see http://anglish.wikia.com/wiki/English_Wordbook/I

"importance"
> It may be the intent to be obscure and strange, but I don't get the sense that this is an archaic version of a language.
I don't believe Anglish is supposed to be archaic English. It is an exercise in imagining what English might have become had it not received such a huge influx of French words after the Norman conquest.
