Swineherd is a strange term. You don't really "herd" pigs like you do sheep or cattle (my parents both came from farms with cattle, sheep, and pigs). You let the pigs forage in the woods, have a swineherd keep an eye on them, but at the end of the day, pigs aren't herd animals - even if we refer to "pig-herders" (probably "pig farmer" is a more accurate term, but lacks the simplicity of calling anyone who cares for food animal a "herder").
