IMO, Lodril always had an underestimated dark side. He's no buffoon or trickster - he's much more.

Lodril is GROSS. He eats, drinks and fXXs without restraints. He doesn't wash, scratches his balls, belches in public and gropes women (not to mention goats). He picks fights all the time and usually wins, being an extremely strong deity. His behavior is always lecherous and unruly. At worst, he/it becomes monster man, a source of great terror. And of course, there's also earthquake.

The only thing that holds Lodril in check is the Rune of his Brother Yelm. Without Yelm's RULE (insistance on this word), Lodril would probably remake / destroy the world. To all right-thinking Dara Happan, which revere Yelm's Law, Lodril IS disorder. To his own pelorian worshippers, he is the source of power that allows them to withstand Yelm's unfliching glare.
