> So, what is a dragons head good for?

Conan answer:

1) To crush your enemies,
2) see them running away from the dragons head before you,
3) to hear the lamentation of the dragonewts.

> So, what is a dragons head good for?

Starr Captain answer:
1) Dragons head huh! absolutely nuthin'. Dragon heads I despise 'cos they mean destruction of innocent lives.

Finally, if you still have the brain, a Lhankhor Mhy scholar may have read this poem from the Second Age:

Any Auld Wyrm?
Just a week or two ago my poor Uncle Mikhil, Went and kicked the bucket and he left me in his will. The other day I popped around to see poor Aunt Arene, She said "Uncle Mikhil has left to you a dragon brain." I put it on right across my vest,
Thought I looked a dandy as it dangled on my chest. Just to flash it off I started wyrming 'round about, A lot of newtlings followed me and all began to shout:

cho:` "Any Auld Wyrm any Auld Wyrm any any any Auld Wyrm? You look neat - talk about a treat,
You look dapper from your napper to your feet. Dressed in style, a dragon's guile,
And your father's still clan chieftain, But I wouldn't give you two clacks for your dragon brain, Auld Wyrm, Auld Wyrm?"

I went to Real City once and thought I'd have a spree. The Daughter of Pavis, she was there, that's who I went to see. She dashed up in a canter with a zebra and a pair, I shouted "Hello boys" and threw my hat up in the air. Just then the Daughter she began to smile, Saw my face and then she shouted "Squamous, what a scale!" Started a-Lord Pavising and I thought that I should die Then thinking with my dragon brain I hollered to her "Hi!"
Just to have a little bit of fun the other day, Made up in my dragon brain I went and drew my pay. Then got out with a lot of Zebra Captains on the loose, I got full right up to here in Dagori stagger juice. One of them said "We want a pot of ale
Run him to the Royal Mint and cover him with scales." I heard the fellow say "What's in this yrtgal that you've got" Then whispered to me kindly "Do you want to lose your lot?"

Shan't forget when I got married in the town. The way the people laughed at me, it made me feel a clown. I began to wonder, when their smiles began to crack, If by mistake I'd got my zebra trousers front to back. I wore my brain on my Here and Now,
The sun was shining on it and it made my subjects bow. The organ started thinking and sun bells began to ring, My brain began to rattle, Peloria began to sing.

WYRM'S FOOTNOTES: This translation from Auld Wyrmish clearly has some areas where the translation makes little literal sense that we can understand. Is the brain a physical thing, or a immaterial draconic organ, or something else? Some theorists speculate that the song is the tale of the Golden Wyrm who ruled Peloria until Karvanyar defeated it an used part of it to adorn his new throne. If true we can see that this reveals some remarkable aspects of EWF religion and magical practices.

It seems that the hero of the tale is some sort of Heortling nobleman's son, with an uncle possessing some draconic power. Perhaps this was typical of the way that dragon worship spread into the Orlanthi clans. The young adventurer goes to the City of Lord Pavis and meets one of his daughters. The reference to her "pair" and and "Hello boys" has not yet been fathomed, although Adamant-Thinker Bornad spent three years contemplating the possible meanings. It seems that some quick thinking saved our hero from some dangerous doom and even got him enlisted as a Zebra Captain. The Royal Mint was where the scale armour of the Zebra Cavalry was stamped out using the huge machine there. Zebra trousers would be chaps used to protect the legs from thornbush and scrub and would indeed look ridiculous if worn front to back.

Note also that for the song to be sung correctly the word wyrm must be pronounced variously wurrum, worm, and whir-rum

The chorus of this song has been found in Peloria without the verses which are not known there, but the Auld is replaced with Gold. cho:` "Golden Wyrm Golden Wyrm Emperor Golden Wyrm? You look neat - talk about a treat,
You look dapper from your napper to your feet. Dressed in style, dragon's guile,
And your father's Golden Dragon.
But I wouldn't give you worship for your dragon brain, Golden Wyrm, Golden Wyrm?"
