Then there is the argument over whether Tap [characteristic] is Chaotic because its destructive effects are a bit like the annihilation caused by Chaos
/// In the new Glorantha, Tapping isn't definitive as it was in RQ. The tapped characteristic grows back, according to the level of victory the sorcerer got. So much for good ol'level-draining, SAN-blasting, definitive RQ Tapping. It has become a simple transfer of power. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt horribly, or that some super-tapping exist. And a Complete Defeat by Tapping means you lose your characteristic forever anyway.

Talor battled vampires and werewolves and (now) a sorceror -- does this make Talor sound like the First Age's answer to Van Helsing (albeit the recentish Hollywood version rather than Bram Stoker's original), or what?
/// That was a very bad movie, with the annoying trait "genereate headache 10M".

Arinsor isn't the only sorceror to have used Essence Plane magic to deal with Chaos. there is the illustration of a Galvosti sorceror (a filthy heretic who probably taps people too) summoning a Krjalki in Gods of Glorantha. Were the Galvosti heretics accused of dabbling in Chaos too, or was their indictment long enough already?
/// They were, and still are. Burn the whole bunch. Their sorcery is a perversion of Logic.

Do the Borist heretics (who use Logic but have an odd and overly intimate relationship with Chaos for others' liking)count too? What about the Guild of Chaos Monks?
/// Damned as well.

Finally if Chaos is taboo to wizards and sorcerors and the Vadeli make a point of breaking taboos, does this mean that the Vadeli tinker with Chaos as well? The Vadeli undeniably use Logic (though maybe not the same logic as everyone else), and yet Logic's analysis of Vadeli practices suggest that they should deal inappropriately with Chaos as well. Or is this the one taboo that even the Vadeli respect?
/// It's more a survival instinct than a taboo : the vadeli are very smart and know where to stop. Their logic is reversed, perverted but they still see it as Logic. And chaos is beyond Logic.

PS: the idea of Logic is so important to Westerners that it sounds like it ought to have its own Rune (snip)
/// Logic is a synonym for Law. Only the Law is Logic. The rest is not. The Law Rune is the Rune of Logic, or the Logical Rune, the one that allows to work with all other, lesser Runes.
